EXPERIENCE THE THRILL OF GOLDEN EAGLE HUNTING IN MONGOLIA:
Embark on a journey into the heart of Kazakh life, where the age-old tradition of hunting with Golden Eagles comes to life. Meet the skilled Kusbegi, also known as Eagle Trainers, and Berkutchi, the revered Eagle Hunters, as they showcase the centuries-old art of training these majestic birds. Passed down from generation to generation, the secrets of wild bird training are closely guarded, creating a rare and fascinating experience.
In the Altai mountains, witness the awe-inspiring sight of Golden Eagles, with a wingspan stretching from 180cm to 220cm and a majestic height of up to 95cm. Their dark-brown plumage, golden-red nape, and large nests in rocky niches add to the mystique of these incredible creatures. Eagles settle in couples, forming nests with a diameter of up to 2 meters, while their lifespan in the wild can reach up to 100 years.
As you immerse yourself in this unique experience, we want to ensure your safety and enjoyment. Dress in neutral tones to avoid attracting eagles, and refrain from venturing too close during the competition. Stay within designated areas, as eagles are focused on the hunt, and be cautious not to disrupt their natural instincts. In the event of confusion or loss, return to your designated meeting point.
Remember, these Golden Eagles are not pets—respect their nature and avoid attempting to touch or hold them without the guidance of their skilled owners, the Eagle Hunters (Burkitshii). Their aggression is natural, and your safety is paramount as you witness the mesmerizing spectacle of the Eagle Hunting Festival in Mongolia.
