Standing tall at 40 meters, this majestic sculpture of Chinggis Khan astride his horse graces the banks of the Tuul River, just 54 kilometers east of Ulaanbaatar. Legend has it that it was here he discovered his golden whip, adding a touch of mythical allure to this iconic landmark. Symbolically facing east, towards his birthplace, the statue crowns the Statue Complex—a 10-meter-tall visitor center adorned with 36 columns, representing the 36 Khaans from Chinggis to Ligden Khaan. Built in 2006, this architectural marvel is a captivating journey through Mongolian history. Indulge in a delightful lunch before we venture to Terelj National Park for an overnight stay in a traditional ger.
Wake up to the beauty of Terelj National Park, where day two unfolds with a hearty breakfast and an invigorating horseback ride to the Aryabal meditation area, followed by some exhilarating short hikes. Marvel at the park’s spectacular granite blocks, towering cliffs, and meadows adorned with wildflowers, all set against a backdrop of pine-covered mountains. With an average elevation of 1600 meters and peaks reaching 2900 meters, Terelj promises an enchanting landscape.
