Arrive in Ulaangom, where you will be warmly greeted. After a hearty breakfast in a traditional Mongolian yurt, meet your driver and host. Then, head to Yamaat Valley in the Kharkhiraa Turgen Mountains, where your camp awaits.
Spend the day learning the basics of horse riding, including how to saddle a horse and stay safe while riding. You’ll ride for 2-3 hours, getting comfortable with your horse for the days ahead.
Today, ride through the challenging Erees Pass, known for its 13 sharp turns. The rugged beauty of the pass, which was difficult even for camels in icy conditions last year, will take you on a thrilling adventure. Camp under the stars surrounded by rocks and canyons.
Ride up to Minjuurin Davaa pass and enjoy the views of the towering Kharkhiraa Turgen Mountains. Camp near Khokh Nuur (Blue Lake), where snow-capped peaks surround you, creating a stunning scene.
Ride to Bor Nuur, a beautiful glacier lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. This is the highest point of your horse trekking adventure. Camp by the lake in a peaceful wilderness setting.
Descend from the mountains, ride around the Kharkhiraa range, and camp in the quiet valley of Nariin Kherts. Enjoy the untouched beauty of the Altai Mountains.
Ride to the Khargait River, known for its strong white-water currents. Camp by the river, surrounded by the dramatic landscape of the Altai Mountains.
Ride into a rocky, sandy valley in Khag. Explore the diverse natural beauty of this part of the Altai Mountains.
Ride down to the foothills of the Kharkhiraa Turgen Mountains, passing through grasslands and desert landscapes. Reach the destination of Khaliun Bulag Boom, a scenic and peaceful spot in the Altai.
End your journey by riding through wide open spaces filled with desert views and grasslands. The final stop is Khovd river, where you can celebrate the end of your adventure in the heart of Mongolia’s beautiful wilderness.
