This 3-day tour takes you to two beautiful national parks, Khustai and Terelj. You will see wild Takhi horses in their natural home, visit the world’s tallest horse statue of Chingis Khaan, and hike to a small mountain temple. Enjoy short horse riding, explore a local museum, and take a short city tour in Ulaanbaatar to visit historical places and markets. Stay in traditional ger camps for a real Mongolian experience.
Khustai National Park is located in the southern Khentii mountains, about 90 km from Ulaanbaatar. It is famous for being the home of the Takhi, also known as Przewalski’s horse, the last truly wild horse species. These horses were reintroduced to the park after being extinct in the wild for 40 years. The park is also home to other wildlife like deer, marmots, and various birds. Visitors can enjoy hiking, wildlife watching, and learning about the park’s conservation efforts.

We will drive to Khustai National Park, located in the southern Khentii mountains. This park is home to the wild Takhi horses, also known as Przewalski horses. These horses live in the wild after being successfully reintroduced to their homeland, where they had been extinct for 40 years. Now, there are over 170 Takhi in the park. We will visit a local museum and ride horses for one hour. Overnight stay in a ger camp. (About 90 km)
We will drive to Terelj National Park. On the way, we will stop at the Chingis Khaan Equestrian Statue, the tallest horse statue in the world. In the park, we will hike to Aryabal Temple and ride horses shortly. Overnight stay in a ger camp. (About 150 km)
We will drive back to UB. After arriving, we will visit the Bogd Khaan Palace Museum and Zaisan Memorial Hill. If time allows, we can also visit the Narantuul Market (Black Market). Finally, we will transfer you to your hotel.
